The media headlines are filled with those cases where a person is convicted of a crime, but when it is eventually found that they were innocent, well, it never receives the same attention, it is not newsworthy.
Recent examples of bad decisions that spring to mind are the delay in deporting of Abu Qatada, the murder of Rachel Manning whose boyfriend Barri White and associate Keith Hyatt, they were sent to prison for crimes they did not commit. There is not a week that goes by without a miscarriage of justice. Often it is the manipulation of the evidence and the jury by the judge that determines how the trial will end. The judges in many cases should look to their consciences.
So what can anybody do to change the legal system that is so defective that around 7,000 innocent people are convicted each and every year ?
So what can anybody do to change a system where offenders are regularly let out on bail by naïve judges and they go on to steal, rape and even murder ?
So what can anybody do to change a flawed system where a pseudo-legal judgement is made that beggars belief and the only form of redress is to employ a barrister to take a case to the High Court in central London at phenomenal cost ?
I admit I do not have an answer to all these!
But if we, the caring general public, or even the honest people who work in the legal system contribute to this site to list all those judges and such-like that need shaming for their actions, then eventually, maybe someone will take notice. At least it will establish a repository of evidence against those rogue individuals that can be used to publicly humiliate them.
